One of the joys of my life is volunteering at Sunday mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. Directly across the street, at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel, is a small little bistro called Pomme Palais. The bistro was created by the late world renowned Michelin Chef Michele Richard.
The bistro is a small French market located at the side entrance of
the hotel. This small pastry shop is filled with an array of sweet and savory treats, French baguettes, elegant pastries and freshly prepared sandwiches daily. Make sure to get there early in the day.
All treats are made fresh and when they are sold out, you have to wait for more the next day. My absolute favorite is their house-brewed coffee and the macaroons.
A fond memory was meeting Chef Richard three years ago. I told him that “he happens to be one of my favorite chefs” and he responded by saying I have very good taste!
Next time you find yourself at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel make sure you stop in at the Pomme Palais for some sweet and savory treats.
